Apostille power of attorney

Used to sell property, sign contracts, open accounts or represent someone in court from abroad.

Which version is accepted

The original signed in front of a notary. This one is created for the purpose, not requested from an office.

Step before the apostille

Notarisation. A power of attorney is a private document and only becomes apostillable once a notary has attested the signature.

What gets it refused

An unsigned draft, or wording the receiving country does not accept: check with the lawyer there first.

By issuing state

Where was it issued?

Pick the state that issued the document. That is what decides which authority apostilles it.
