Where the apostille on a birth certificate is valid

The apostille is issued once and accepted by the more than 120 countries of the Hague Convention. Besides that, the destination changes the translation and what the receiving office asks for, not the apostille itself. Therefore a certificate apostilled for Italy is the same one Portugal or Spain will accept, and you do not file it twice.

How the filing works, step by step

First you send the scan. Then we confirm the copy, file it with the issuing authority, and return the apostilled document. By the way, you never visit an office: the whole thing runs online, and Florida is the only state we file in person. If the document was issued in Brazil, the filing goes to a notary authorised by the CNJ, and the apostille comes back electronic.
